This is a great question! While both are injectables, they work in different ways. Botox and Dysport relax the muscles to smooth out “dynamic” wrinkles caused by facial expressions. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, are gel-like substances that add volume to “static” wrinkles, which are visible even when your face is at rest. They are often used together for a more comprehensive anti-aging effect.
The longevity of fillers varies depending on the type of filler used, the area treated, and individual metabolism. Most hyaluronic acid fillers last anywhere from 6 to 18 months. Regular touch-up appointments can help you maintain your desired results.
Most clients report only mild discomfort during the injections. We can use a topical numbing cream to ensure the treatment is as comfortable as possible. Many fillers also contain lidocaine, a numbing agent, to further minimize any pain.

There is very little downtime after a dermal filler treatment. You may experience some swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site, but these side effects are temporary and typically resolve within 2-4 weeks. We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours after your appointment.
